Changing your password

When you first register with WeaveZine, the server generates a random, secure password for your account.  Being random and secure, however, also means that it's probably impossible to remember and/or type.

Fortunately, it's easy to change your password at any time.

Log in to WeaveZine.  After you do, the Login Form is replaced by your username and a welcome message.  Beneath the welcome message is a "Your account" link.

Click the "Your account" link under the welcome message.  This opens your Profile Page, which display the information about yourself that you've shared with the site.  You will see an Edit tab at the top of the Profile Page.

Click the Edit tab.  This brings up the Profile Editing Page. The first section of the Profile Editing Form has two textboxes you can use to change your password.

To change your password, enter the new password into each textbox.  (Entering it twice helps to ensure there are no typos in your new password.)

Note: If your new password is not terribly secure (for example: "12345") the site will prompt you with some suggestions for making it more secure.  You, of course, can choose to follow or ignore this advice.

Now, the most important part...scroll down to the bottom of the Profile Editing Page and click the Save button.

Save Button

The server does not record your changes until you hit the Save button.  So if you leave the page without clicking Save, you won't have changed your password.

And that's it!  You now have a bright and shiny new password.  You can even test it out by logging out of the site and then logging back in.
